If only all backups were as easy as copy&paste!
Dynamic Micro Trust makes it look easy!
Simply close the dmt.exe application. Make sure the dmt icon has disappeared, then copy & paste the entire c:\trust folder to the desired backup location, such as a flash drive.
Notice the instruction to wait until the icon has disappeared? The reason is the underlying SQL database. Even the very robust SQLite database is subject to risk, and without a proper backup to restore, the end user may be faced with an expensive data rescue and recovery scenario.
Remember, that even if data can be safely backed up using a simple copy and paste, one still needs to retain multiple copies of the data and store the data away from the main site.
Complacency is a very real threat to data security.
