2018 started with news affecting computers everywhere.
Security researchers discovered the flaws late in 2017 and publicized them in early 2018.
These security vulnerabilities are known as Meltdown and Spectre. These vulnerabilities exist at the hardware level.
There is no evidence that these vulnerabilities have ever been exploited in the wild.
